So far, this Chin Mount for my HJC RPHA 90S helmet is doing exactly what it’s supposed to do. The mount fits the helmet contours perfectly and the adhesive has shown excellent initial bond strength.
I made sure to prep everything properly: I cleaned the helmet surface with a damp cloth first, then wiped it down with an alcohol pad to get rid of any oils or debris. After letting that dry, I used a dry towel to remove any leftover residue. To improve adhesion, I gently heated both the helmet surface and the adhesive strips with a blow dryer to get them as tacky as possible. Once I placed the mount, I clamped it down for several minutes to apply constant, even pressure.
The mount has kept my camera secure with no shifting or vibration. It feels really solid, but I am curious how the adhesive strips will hold up over time and in different weather conditions — only time will tell.
Overall, I’m very happy with how it’s performing so far.
