How to Mount a GoPro on a Shoei RF-1400

The right GoPro setup for a Shoei RF-1400 starts with a mount intended for that helmet. Then you need the correct camera connection and an angle that works in your riding position.

Use the advertised mounting position for the RF-1400 mount, follow the installation instructions, and check the complete setup before riding. A camera angle that looks right on a table can look very different once you are on the bike.

Choose the correct helmet mount

Our Shoei RF-1400 / NXR2 / Z-8 Chin Mount lists these models on its product page. Confirm your helmet model rather than assuming another Shoei mount will fit.

Build the camera connection

Select your exact GoPro model when choosing the setup. The camera body, housing, and mounting interface affect which attachments you need.

Before installing the base, assemble the camera connection and check where the camera sits. Look for sufficient clearance around the visor, chin vent, and controls.

Test the advertised position

Use the product photos as your placement reference. Check that the base follows the intended part of the chin bar without forcing it into place.

If the fit appears wrong, pause and contact us before removing the adhesive backing. A photograph showing the helmet model, mount, and proposed position helps us understand the problem.

Install using the current guide

Follow our Chin Mount installation instructions, including surface preparation and the required bonding period.

Give yourself time to install before the day you plan to film. The physical installation and the time needed before use are separate steps.

Set the angle on the motorcycle

Put the helmet on and sit on your stationary motorcycle in your usual riding position. Record a short clip while looking where you normally look ahead.

Review the clip for three things:

  • Enough road ahead to understand the ride.
  • A useful amount of cockpit in the lower frame.
  • A horizon position that leaves room for normal head movement.

Adjust the camera rather than changing your natural riding posture to suit the shot. If an attachment cannot reach the required angle, check the compatible options in our accessories collection.

Check before the first ride

Once the installation is ready for use, inspect the base, camera attachment, fasteners, and any supplied retention accessory. Open and close the visor and confirm that the camera does not interfere.

Start with a short recording rather than a full day's footage. Review it after stopping, make any adjustments while parked, and repeat until the framing suits you.

Build your Shoei RF-1400 setup with the mount and attachments matched to your camera.
